Pasta Party Friday!
Colton and I are hosting a pasta party on Friday evening to carbo-load our runners and celebrate a great season. I hope your runner will be able to attend! Younger runners can carpool with older runners that drive if rides are needed. Runners should be picked up between 8 and 8:30 p.m.

Fundraiser this Weekend!
Sorry for the tardiness of this post!!!
The biggest fundraiser of our year is being held this weekend.
Coaches Tuttle and Forbes need the participation of each member of the cross country team this weekend to ensure things go smoothly.
Octoberfest will be held at Pettit Creek Farms from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The girl's team will collect donations at the gate and the boy's team will help parking cars. Get directions >>
If your child hasn't already confirmed a day/time with their coach, please email us at whsxc07@gmail.com to let us know when they will volunteer.

Volunteers Needed for Run at the Rock
The coaches need your help with Run at the Rock. The meet will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at WHS. There are 22-25 teams coming and we will need to be well organized which, with your help, won't be a problem!
Please email whsxc07@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer for one of the following positions and note what position(s) you are interested in:
1. Two timers (experience required)
2. Two place card givers (no experience required)
3. One Placer in the finish chute (can’t be shy because you are placing the close finishes)
4. Three Catchers in the finish chute (sweat and vomit is most likely found here)
5. Three gate keepers (no experience required)
6. Two people at packet pick up and scoring table (experience required for scoring and will need to be ready at 3:15 for packet pick up)
7. Four for parking duty

9. Concession help

Runner's Needed to Volunteer for Saturday's Middle School Meet
Each year Woodland High School and Woodland Middle School runners volunteer to assist with races each team hosts during the season. WHS cross country runners are needed to assist with Woodland Middle School's Covered Bridge race this Saturday. Runners should arrive at Osborne Park (near Woodland Middle School) at 9 a.m. to receive volunteer assignments and instructions. Races start at 10 a.m.
In return, WMS runners will assist with our meet -- Run at the Rock.
Please reply to this email or contact your child's coach if your runner is able to volunteer some time on Saturday morning.

Schedule Changes and Call for Snack and Beverage Donations
We have changes to the race schedule (see below for an updated schedule). The Border Clash has been cancelled and the Warpath Invitational will likely be changed to the Cartersville Classic.

We need everyone's help to make this an enjoyable and successful season for our runners. Thank you in advance for your support!

Parent's Meeting Highlights

If you haven't already done so, please turn in your runner's participation fee of $50 to either coach. Freshman will also need to pay $50 for their uniform. Make checks payable to WHS XC Boosters.
Runner's are requested to participate in this Saturday's Bookin' It for the Friends of the Library 5K. The race will serve as the time trial for the start of the season. The entry fee is $15 before August 14. After August 14 the cost goes up to $20. The race starts at 8 a.m. at the Woodland cross country course. Learn more or download the registration form>>
